Using a Fertility Calculator to Help You Get Pregnant

By Emmanuel Palmer

Many young couples are in the process of starting their own family. For others, it may not be as easy as they thought. After all, there is more to baby making than intercourse. Some may be having a more difficult time-- but do not let it troubled you too much yet. There are cases where it is just a matter of timing, and utilizing a fertility calculator will help you in this regard.

The most fertile period in a woman's calendar is the few days preceding ovulation. It is around this time where the cervical fluid increases, and this in turn creates a friendly atmosphere for the sperm to be in. The body temperature rises during ovulation, making the body a more favorable environment for the fertilized egg. When you understand your most fertile days, you can maximize your baby making window of opportunity best.

This is why having a fertility calendar (or fertility days calculator, or ovulation fertility calendar) is a great tool in your mission to have a baby. What it does is effectively calculate your peak fertility time wherein your lovemaking will be most advantageous for conception. However, it must be said that for some cases where infertility is medical in nature, a fertility calendar may not be much of help for the couple.

Some causes of infertility are caused by the man having some physical or anatomical deformity that has affected the viability of the sperm. An inferior quality and quantity of sperm present in the man will have a lower chance of him producing an offspring. While this may warrant a physical check-up by their doctor, it is more often the case that the woman has fertility issues that needs to be examined.

A common sign of infertility is the irregularity of menstrual cycle. Unless a woman is pregnant or is in menopause, regular menstruation should be expected. If not, she may be having internal problems concerning her ovulation that she has to consult her doctor about. Polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS is a hormonal disorder that triggers infertility. You doctor may prescribe some medications to correct this imbalance and help you get on your way to a successful conception.

Another distressing fertility issue is pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). PID is oftentimes the result of gonorrhea and Chlamydia. These are sexually transmitted diseases that cause bacteria to scar the ovaries and fallopian tubes-critical organs for baby making. Many times, the scarring is irreparable; however, there are cases that early detection and treatment reverse this condition effectively.

Internal problems are often the causes of infertility. There are times though that the lifestyle that the couple has is the reason that they cannot produce an offspring. Remember, it is critical that you avoid harmful substances like alcohol, nicotine and too much caffeine when you are attempting to have children. Women especially with very delicate pregnancy conditions will not be able to give birth to a healthy baby without exercising extreme caution.

If you do not have a child yet after a year of regular and unprotected sex, it is time you schedule a complete physical examination with your doctor. Perhaps it is only an increased awareness of the best possible time for conception. If so, a fertility calculator will help solve your problems. If it is infertility, there are other safe alternatives you can try that will fulfill your wish for a big and happy family.
