Have You Heard Some Of The Talk About The HCG Diet?

By Riley T. Simonis

The HCG diet is a low-calorie diet aided by supplemental drops. On a low calorie diet, the body burns up the day's calorie intake faster and begins to burn fat as a source of fuel instead. The supplements used in the diet help to maintain muscle mass and burn only fat where a low-calorie diet alone might affect muscles before fat is burned. HCG drops assist in easing any negative side effects, like irritability or fatigue normally associated with low-calorie diets. While on the HCG diet, the body restructures the way it normally uses stored fat and regular calorie intake. There are three stages in the special diet starting with the introduction phase, the training phase, and the final maintenance phase.

The special diet begins with a high calorie intake while starting use of the HCG drops supplement. The first phase of the diet helps to re-set the body's natural way of processing calorie intake and burning fat, which will be utilized in the low-calorie portion of the diet. The higher calorie intake at the start of the diet also helps to reduce hunger during the low-calorie portion of the diet. The body begins to burn stored fat during the second phase of the special diet in which low-calorie intake ensures that fat will provide a necessary fuel source throughout the process.

During the maintenance phase of the diet, the drops have triggered the body's metabolism to perform as a fat-burning machine. Calorie intake begins to increase back to regular levels, and the use of formula is no longer necessary in the maintenance stage of the special diet.

Calorie intake, however, must be slowly raised as to not disrupt the metabolism and the body's new system of burning fat. During the maintenance phase of the diet, weight should be monitored carefully to confirm that the body's restructured metabolism is preserved throughout the calorie increase.

Just light exercise is recommended during the diet plan because of the low-calorie intake. Heavy exercise could cause fatigue and starvation as the body uses the limited calories it has for energy faster. The hormones in the drops will not affect a woman's menstrual cycle, and there are no other apparent side effects of the program. Pregnant women are not advised to use the diet, as they are likely to see little to no results because of higher calorie intakes necessary for nourishment during pregnancy.
