Is A Young Woman A Better Auto Salesman?

As long as most of us can remember, car salesmen have a reputation for being slick and dishonest. Movies such as Used Cars, and The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard have brought the reputation of car salesmen to be tricky and deceptive. There are several dealerships that have gone a long way in changing this belief. For a long time, car salesmen have been earning their bread through commissions. Finding a commission no matter the method used was crucial as this is what the salesman depended on to make a living.

The old adage let the buyer beware has been incorporated over a long period of time. The idea was, was looking for a car, especially a used one, you had to know your stuff and make sure the person you're working with has your best interest at heart.

Though not all car salesmen are this way, there are a few in the market that make it necessary for you to be wary. Car salesman come in all shapes and sizes. Some are smooth talkers. Others give it to you straight. Though there are others that withhold information if you do not dare ask. It's also true, that their women car salesman as well as men. Are women better car salesmen than men?

The fact remains that women prefer not dealing with car salesmen while searching for a car. At that salesperson is a woman, they are less likely to be apprehensive. A woman salesman would understand what the other woman desires.

Additionally, women seem to have a softer approach. This draws people rather than sending them away making women sell more.

Women are good listeners as they also seek attention. For this, women prefer women too men.

A question that puts women down when they are buying cars is "shouldn't your husband me there with you?" Women salesmen do not do that. This does not happen with women salesmen. They assume that you know what you're doing when you come to their car lot by a car. Additionally, these women have been through this and understand what you are going through.

Women understand each other better hence get to trust each other. Empathy is crucial in sales. Sales is really about emotion. Women know how to use emotion much better than men.

A lot of men get to deal with women salesmen. The thought process is that she can't know more than them, therefore they feel less threatened by woman sales person. This comes to an advantage to women salesmen who just want to earn an honest day's pay and do a good job.
