How To Recognize Vitamins Made In USA

By Nita McKinney

Taking essential vitamins on daily basis became popular a long time ago. The problem is that most products designed for this purpose today contain components made in Asian countries, mostly China. Thanks to the fact the level of quality control in these countries is very low, the quality is questionable. That's why most people would like to buy vitamins made in USA.

China has become the world's largest producer of vitamins. For example, in China, they produce more than ninety percent of total world production of vitamin C. In addition, vitamin C produced in China is significantly cheaper than the same product produced in another country. Given this fact, there is very high probability that a multivitamin product containing vitamin C is manufactured in China.

Unfortunately, production conditions and health standards in Asian countries do not meet Western standards. Many products contain harmful chemicals, toxins, and even some medications. Lately, there have been frequent discussions about the safety of such products. Customers are increasingly concerned about the quality and want to know the origin of the product they are taking.

Most manufacturers do not provide a guarantee of origin of all ingredients of their products. Although the product is originated in the USA, there is no guarantee that some components aren't imported from Asia. Given the amount of containers that daily bring goods from that part of the world, it is easy to assume that the vast majority of products on the shelves in your pharmacy are manufactured some Asian country.

Even if you find Made in USA sign on the label, it doesn't mean that some parts of this particular product aren't produced somewhere else. Thanks to the fact those components are cheaper, it's likely they will be there. It is possible that you are buying Asian product without knowing it, and it is something to be concerned about.

Another great problem is packaging. Containers are often manufactured in Asia, and they don't meet quality standards either. Healthy product in contaminated package is something you wouldn't want to buy. Unfortunately, you don't really know if it is contaminated, and there are so many horrible stories about dangerous chemicals used in process of production.

Given all this, people are becoming increasingly concerned. While the product you buy has a label that says Made in USA, you just cannot be sure it doesn't contain components manufactured elsewhere. There is a strong possibility that taking vitamins to protect your health is actually doing damage to your body. Many scary stories about harming ingredients in various products are a good reason for concern.

All multivitamin products should be properly labeled. The manufacturer should issue a guarantee that each and every component is made exclusively in States, including package. They aren't obligated to do so yet. As a result, they naturally use cheaper ingredients, to increase their profit. The problem is that you are spending good money for poor quality product that can harm you.

Of course, some of the manufacturers are aware of the situation. Their products are considerably more expensive, but all the components have guaranteed origin. Purchasing cheap, untested products can harm your health. When you would like to buy vitamins made in USA, double check the label and each component's origin.
