Have You Thought About Your Wedding Cake

By Tobby Green

Couples who are going to be typing the knot soon will be double checking all their arrangements to see if they have everything covered and all details down to the last is on target to go without a hitch.

So many things to remember and have organised for your day which include which venue to select and where you will take your vows.

The main part everyone wants to look at is the wedding cake itself. I recently attended a wedding of a friend's daughter and all the gossip was about the cake as a lot of money had been spent on this one item it had nearly blown the wedding budget and on top all this the bride's dad had to drive 100 miles to collect the cake and head back to the venue without dropping one piece of cake or his life would not be worth living.

First things first try and be sensible during the wedding planning and stick to a reasonable budget. As soon as you mention weddings the cost of everything goes up by about a third. Search wedding magazines or online for ideas and think of size of venue and wedding style so your cake fits your wedding plans and not the other way round.

There are plenty of designs for you to choose from including tradional fruit mix or chocolate mix cake. You can order small cakes to large master piece types of cake which my friend had ordered for her daughter.

Gorgous designs are on show to select including tiered cakes and love hearts. Cakes can now be made in a variety of different colours which will please the bride.

Once you have decided on a rough design for your cake the next decision would be to make your mind up about who is going to bake the cake for you. Think well ahead for this item and make sure your order is placed in plenty of time for your big day. Try and taster samples of cake from each bakery before making up your mind which one you will book with for your special day.
